Time for fresh veggies, and your local C.S.A.!

In Boulder, it snowed a few days ago, but today it’s 65 degrees and the automatic sprinklers on the downtown Pearl Street Mall are already nursing tulip and daffofils to life. To go along with the change in seasons, I’ve found myself craving spinach salads and strawberries and fresh greens. Which means—it’s almost time for the farmer’s market and community supported agriculture.

By signing up for a C.S.A., you pledge your allegiance to one independent farm for the season, and automatically receive a box of whatever veggies are freshest and most plentiful each week. At Abondanza, a local farm in Boulder, a C.S.A. Is only $400 for the season—that’s $20 per week, which our editor can attest frequently provided more vegetables than he could eat himself. Find your local farmer’s market here and search here for C.S.A. in your area. – Heather Mueller.
