Book Review: The Gift of Grief, by Rabbi Matthew Gewirtz

Intended for anyone that has suffered great loss of any sort and is trying to find meaning behind the pain. Rabbi Gewirtz uses a spiritual approach rather than a religious one, and that’s what makes this book work. At no time does the book rely on a “God has a plan,” “God works in mysterious ways” or a “God is testing you” approach. Instead, Gewirtz decries that mindset as offensive and irresponsible—making this book refreshing and relatable.
