Find A Yoga Class Anywhere (in NY) with iPhone App Yoga Local.

An-untested-review-of-iPhone-app-Local-Yokel-I-mean-YogaLocal via Claire Flannery:

This (read below) would be a really awesome iPhone app for all the yogis in the country if it weren’t strictly limited to New York City, San Francisco & L.A.  Great idea, but get it all over the effing country! “Anywhere”? not so much.

Are you a busy, part-time yogi, full-timer trying to squeeze in class whenever your hectic schedule allows? Keeping tabs on your prized yoga spots is now easy as Apple pie. Introducing YogaLocal, the new iPhone app available through the iTunes App store. YogaLocal serves up the scoop on every single yoga studio in New York City: you get studio info, full schedules, instructor bios, and the latest yoga headlines.

No more cross-googling studios and schedules—with more than 200 studios participating in five boroughs, you can find a class anywhere, anytime. YogaLocal uses your phone’s GPS to find the classes closest to you. Works anywhere in the city and in the Hamptons to get you relaxed, open, and centered, right now.

Coming soon: YogaLocal is going bi-coastal, they’ve announced they are expanding their scope to include San Francisco and Los Angeles in February.

But what about Boulder and all the cities in between?

A Message from YogaLocal Creator, Ben Fleisher:

When I started practicing yoga, I realized that I could be my own worst enemy or my own best friend; it ‘s up to me. Ever since I’ve wanted to help others feel that sense of empowerment, I studied and meditated and retreated, I wrote and travelled and taught, and I found myself doing bodywork as a means to channel that sea of uncharted inspiration. Massage therapy led me to Fritz Smith’s Zero Balancing, which to this day I am awed by. Zero Balancing led me to Acupuncture, and in the midst of navigating work and school and taking care of myself, I just found that I was spending way too many of my precious few minutes sorting out yoga schedules. In other words, YogaLocal sprang up out of my own impatience. I was sure someone would have already created this App. Someone would have already mobilized the yoga community. Then I realized that somebody would be me, and that App is YogaLocal. Check it out and Enjoy.

Also, check out some reviews about the app on YogaDork, YogaCityNYC,  & WellandGoodNYC.

cool…but make it available to everyone, everywhere.
