Baba Ram Dass in the realm of Visionary Artist Martina Hoffmann: in the end there’s only one spirit and one humanness

“I help people as a way to work on myself, and I work on myself to help people… To me, that’s what the emerging game is all about.” Ram Dass , when asked if he could sum up his life’s message.

Baba Ram Dass , author of  “Be here Now”, awarded the Peace Abbey Courage of Conscience Award in August 1991, became known for his innovative conscious research with entheogens at Harvard University together with colleagues Dr. Tomothy Leary and Dr. Ralph Metzner. Later, after his legendary trip to India and his encounter with his Guru, Neem Karoli Baba, he returned to the US  and became one of counter culture’s prime spiritual leaders.

Martina Hoffman is a well known and respected artist in the world of Visionary Art.

Visionary Art is explained by Martina in a simple and beautiful evolutionary thought: “The visionary artist makes visible the more subtle and intuitive states of our existence and creates maps and symbols reflecting consciousness. My work is an attempt to show spirit as the universal force which unifies us beyond the confines of cultural and religious differences. By accepting the interdependency of all life and our universal interconnectedness we have a chance to heal and transform the planet’s general state of woundedness. In using art as a tool for transformation, we have the opportunity to createa reality as beautiful, healthy and strong as our imagination permits.”

Martina Hoffmann’s imagination often paints female figures transposed over delicate psychedelic geometry and shifting shapes of animals and snakes, which in ancient shamanic tradition symbolism represents the entire universe and its fractal dimension.

Martina Hoffmann’s emphasis is on the inner planes and the mystical experience, she likes to bring awareness to how we can all access expanded states of consciousness, through meditation, shamanic work, or whatever it takes. Her art is directed to change our awareness as a planetary unit and a global community.

Martina’s portrait of Ram Dass is the result of the balance of two, of the meeting of consciousness, an interaction of spirit manifested in color and paint. A transient moment in life that will transcend in a painting that will speak to some and will sing to others, reminding us of universal beauty and the enlightening power of living in consciousness of the self.  May you see in this reflection the realization of Martina Hoffman: in the end there’s only one spirit and one humanness.
