Yoga a Deux. {Playlist} ~ Tiffanie DeBartolo

Sometimes Two is Better than One.

Do you want to hear one of the sappiest things I say when people ask me about my relationship with my partner and why it works so well? I tell them that Scott and I are like chocolate and peanut butter. That is, we are both already pretty great on our own, but then you put us together and—bam!—a most extraordinary combination.

The songs in this week’s yoga playlist—all duets—could be characterized in the same way. They’re like musical peanut butter cups. In other words, here’s a collection of super talented artists who shine even brighter when matched with an equally talented cohort.

And when you think about it, that’s really the only way any “duet” can work—be it in life or in music. If there’s one thing I’ve learned in the last decade, it’s that you can’t put mediocre and mediocre together and think you’re going to get extraordinary. You can’t even put mediocre and almost great together and get extraordinary. You have to step up to the plate as the best you that you can be, and then give it all you’ve got.

Because sometimes, in music as in life, two is better than one.
