Why should I have to pay to read elephant articles? You don’t.

Elephant Reader Question: Why should I have to pay to read the articles?

1. We pay to read a magazine or newspaper, don’t we?

2. You don’t have to pay. 98% of our readers read for free. Two articles plus a day, enough for most. Two more free tomorrow, and every day. Not enough? Get our weekly best-of newsletter email, free, with 15 free links: http://www.elephantjournal.com/join-the-cause or

3. you can pay $1/month for what you seem to value.

Perhaps because we’re growing so quickly, but we’ve had about 10 complaints lately. To be clear: you don’t have to pay to read elephant. Everyone gets 2-3 free reads, every day, enough for 98% of our readership. Used up your reads? Come back tomorrow, 2-3 more free. Or, believe in supporting mindful, independent businesses? Pay a whole big fat $1/month.

Open mind? You don’t have to pay: you can get another 15 free a week from our weekly Best Of Newsletter: elephantjournal.com/join-the-cause Or, subscriptions to read limitless are just $1/month and up. ~ Waylon Lewis

PS: where was it written that media is free? This attitude is the reason journalism (already weak) has collapsed in the past 20 years.

We’re now paying writers…we’re not doing journalism yet, but together, with your help, we’ll get there. http://www.elephantjournal.com/2013/08/will-pay-for-words-elephant-journals-august-incentives/
