What Would Happen if You Stopped Going Outside? {Video}

I live in Ohio and it’s been hot, even for August.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not one to complain about the heat, especially since I’m fully aware, as a lover of seasons, that it will soon be winter before I know it and it will then become all too easy to complain about the bitter cold.

Yet, while I adore my changing Ohio weather, I have noticed that when my daughter and I don’t spend as much time outside as we usually do that neither of us are as happy.

On the one hand, it makes me thank my lucky stars to have an outdoor-lovin’ kid, on the other, it helps me to reflect on the benefits of nature.

Even a minimal amount of time, surrounded by things that are naturally green and experiencing sunlight without a pane of glass in front of it, is more wonderful for you than you probably recognize.

(Athough I’m certainly not suggesting that being a country mouse is better than being a city one, because, actually, some of the cities that I’ve lived in have had the most beautiful parks.)

So, watch this and be reminded of why you need to always make time to spend outside—and then get out there.
