Close-Minded Social Sex Attitudes, No More! {Video}

Social-Sex Attitudes in Adolescence (1953)

This film’s expression of teenage attitudes toward sex is one of the most old-fashioned and simplistic viewpoints ever to be expressed apropos sex and social sex attitudes.

This social guidance film is seeded with comments that only a conservative white elitist would say. The chummy-sounding narrator has an average sounding voice and tells the tale of two very average white American teenagers who (surprise!) end up getting married happily in a church at the end. The film goes into great detail about Bob and Mary’s opinions and attitudes toward the opposite sex. At the end of the film, the instructional commentary even goes so far as to say that union between a man and a woman is the correct and proper viewpoint regarding relationships, dating, marriage, etc.

This instructional film was made in 1953, and it is obviously lacking in alternative viewpoints with respect to sex and relationships.

I know that gay, lesbian, transgender, bisexual or transgender lifestyles were not mainstream in 1953.

However, it is important to note that the Homophile movement, which occurred from 1945-1969 in most of the Western world, was happening at the time this instructional movie was made (clarification…Homophile is not a word for a person who is afraid of homosexuals…it simply is another word for a homosexual man or woman or one who is actively concerned with the rights of gay and lesbian people).

So was this instructional film created by McGraw-Hill and Crawley Films to subvert or to steal legitimacy from gay and lesbian ways of living?

Was the intention to brainwash parents and kids into thinking that relationships shared by a white man and a white woman of similar educational and socio-economic backgrounds are the only correct or socially acceptable relationships?

This video is so propaganda-esque and dogmatic…so close-minded about sex and love. It is creations like this—so lacking in creativity and culture—that make up the engraining of close-mindedness in our nation when it comes to sex, love and relationships.

“I think that there’s no doubt that as I see friends, families, children of gay couples who are thriving, you know, that has an impact on how I think about these issues.”

-Barack Obama

In a nation where homosexual marriage isn’t legal in all states, I would venture to say that brainwashing or ignoring the issue of homosexuality or white superiority is the modus operandi of our government.

After all, Barack Obama is said to be the first U.S. president to publicly and openly offer statements and political action in support of homosexual marriage and rights, though I found statements from Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton in support of homosexual union.

And by the way, check this politician out. He is a Utah State Senate candidate, a member of the Constitution party (which is a party in favor of restoring America to its good old-fashioned, Biblical, white values) and he isn’t eating until gay marriage stops in the state of Utah. So just as close-minded viewpoints in the world and in America are dying, this close-minded individual will probably starve and die as well.

Let’s continue to open our minds and our hearts, America. Let’s love each other for reasons other than the fact that we have the same viewpoints, opinions, skin color and amount of money in our bank accounts.

Let’s be in love with a person because of who he or she is, whatever he or she is.
