I Don’t want to Love you tonight. {Poem}

MEXICO 7, Janne

I don’t want to love you tonight
I don’t
I want to go sit in my rocking chair
I want to put on Gregory Alan Isakov
light a blue candle that doesn’t smell like a thing
I wish to take off the day
and sit naked
alone
reading Bukowski or Neruda
listen to the sounds of the night
until I fall asleep
and I know there will be rich blues music
and I could dance barefoot
hair a wild
and you could lay me down
and take off my black lace
kissing each sun freckle upon my chest
but
I don’t wish a man in my bed
whether he has a sixteen pack
plays guitar behind his back
and is Dutch with ocean eyes
I don’t want you tonight
leave me be
