Song of the Lonely Mother. {Poem}

basking in bed
A lonely mother’s nest

is empty of desire;
it seeks the quiet rest
to which the gods aspire.

A lonely mother’s nest
is filled with bedtime stories
of heroes put to test
to claim their broken glories.

A lonely mother’s bed
is empty of sensation;
it seeks the strength to shed
the sheets of confrontation.

A lonely mother’s bed
is filled with gruesome fears;
she’s grieving her beloved
on pillows moist with tears.

A lonely mother’s heart
is empty of allegiance;
it seeks the will to part
with overwhelming credence.

A lonely mother’s heart
is filled with sweet surrender,
it longs to fall apart
in rapture, bliss and splendor.
