Announcement: Elephant’s New Business.

Emily Haven Collective Review

Elephant has a newborn Sister.

After 13 years, Elephant Journal has a new addition to the family.

“Conscious consumerism” has been one of our 12 primary areas of focus for 13 years. We’re about “the mindful life”—yoga, organics, sustainability, contemplative arts, enlightened education, active citizenship, ecofashion, wellness, non-new agey spirituality—anything that helps us to live a good life that’s also good for others, and our planet.

For 13 years, we’ve been one thing: articles. First in magazine form, then, in a web site that reaches 18 million readers a month.

Our first sibling, has long been our video/talk show series, Walk the Talk Show.

Over the last few years, a new sibling has grown up: Elephant Academy, an online training school for mindful communication: journalism ethics, blogging, social media and the mindful life, generally. We offer it to 50 folks a “semester”, all over the world. We hire out of this group, consistently, and many of them take their certificates and get jobs in the field.

Now, finally, we’re beginning to really walk our talk, and not just read about it: we’re now offering a way for folks to change the world through business. Supporting small and mid-sized eco and ethical businesses. We’re offsetting the shipping by planting real trees in real places of need. We’re inviting any mindful business to share its wares (if you’ve got a fave, ask them to email [email protected]).

If you’d like to change the world for the better through your presents this holyday season, check out Elephant Market. New gifts are going up every day.
