If You Do Nothing Else. {Poem}

Doug Robichaud/ Unsplash

Immerse yourself in poetry

and readings of good faith.

Let go of hostility.

Give thanks for each new day.

Trust the mother and her plans,

trust yourself.

Do the best you can.

Love:

the open heart, honest eyes

kind of love for the ages.

Accept:

what is, what was, what may be

and all its changes.

Be true.

Your truest self—let that be enough.

Fight for peace within yourself

and don’t give up on love.
