Dear One, Remember this when you’re Sad.

mask

Dear one, lay down your armor.

Lay down your shame.

Lay down your judgment and self-doubt.

Put to rest the voices of should have, could have and not good enough.

Come as you are and remember you’re only trying your best at being human, and that is valiant and refreshingly human and raw.

Remember you don’t have to fake it. It’s okay to not be okay, but it also okay to remember that emotion is not a solid state. Emotion clears and moves and brings us back into balance. And beneath the falling apart and the raw emotion, there’s your reminder of how strong, powerful and important you are.

Show up as you are and remember that sometimes the only way out is through and that you’re never, ever alone in it. Call the friend that will listen, text someone who cares, do something that you know brings you back to yourself.

Don’t hide. Don’t small yourself away. Show up as you are. Your sadness is perfectly human.

“You can’t stay in your corner of the Forest waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes.” ~ A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh
