There is a Lifetime of Medicine in this Reminder. {Poem}

I used to stress about the little things
Until one day while I was having lunch
Overlooking the ocean
Surrounded by pink and purple flowers

From afar I could feel a tidal wave barreling toward me
Not of water but of emotion
Consuming every ounce of my attention
Hurling toward me with a message:

That everything in my sight
The blooming flowers
The luscious trees
The look that my lover gives me as we enjoy this moment
Is not a forever experience

That everything I can see, taste and hear is momentary
Fleeting
Fragile

As the remembrance of impermanence washes over every cell of my being
A lightness arises
A mantra sweetly comes to the surface

Thank you
Thank you
Thank you for what is

The more we soften into the fragility of this life experience
The more free we become

The more we lean into what is
Here and now
The more easily gratitude becomes our natural state
Our home frequency

Time and time again
Lean in
Give thanks
And sweetly listen.
