How to Save a Bear’s Life.

Just today, in downtown Boulder, a bear trapped in a tree surrounded by dozens of well-meaning—but Instagramming—gawkers, while it shivered in fear, urinating, shaking:

 

If you see a bear in a tree, please leave it alone. Spare it your Instagram. Crowds can cause a bear to become stressed—panting, shaking, peeing—freaked, trapped, dehydrated, probably thinking it’ll get killed.

As long as folks surround it, it won’t try to move back to nature, to safety.

Please spread the word: if you see a bear, don’t photo it: leave it alone.
