Walk the Talk Show with Waylon Lewis:
“We want to bring yoga to unserved and underserved populations.” ~ Rob Schware
Today, Waylon talks with Rob Schware, Executive Director of the Give Back Yoga Foundation, about how we can use yoga to give back to our communities and to reach beyond the typical yoga “choir.”
“Yoga can affect change in people’s lives, beyond the individual teacher and beyond the white upper-middle class,” said Schware. His organization teaches yoga to cancer survivors, prisoners, people suffering from trauma and addiction, and more. He also works with training the teachers who will go into these situations so that they are prepared to be the best and most helpful teachers they can be.
