Everything I hope to Have, Do & Be in Life. {Poem}

My Intention is to Live.

My intention is to write,

no matter what.
No matter my mood;
no matter how much or little I earn;
no matter what else I am busy with;
no matter who I hurt or offend;
no matter how successful or unsuccessful I am;
no matter who is or isn’t supporting me;
no matter what I am afraid or resentful of
no matter what I am sad or apprehensive about;
no matter who might judge me;
no matter how much or little time I have;
no matter whether I or anyone else think it matters or not.
My intention is to write,
always,
no matter what.

My intention is to love myself,

no matter what.
No matter the size or shape of my body;
no matter how my skin looks;
no matter if some think I am selfish;
no matter if I feel worthy;
no matter where I am;
no matter what I have or have not achieved;
no matter how tired or how rested I am.
My intention is to love myself,
always,
no matter what.

My intention is to hold on to hope,

no matter what.
No matter how many times I fall back into that dark place;
no matter how many times I have to drag myself out again;
no matter how many times I am rejected;
no matter how many times I fall short;
no matter how impossible, indulgent, or irresponsible my dreams may seem;
no matter how slowly I may be going,
provided I always
keep moving,
keep growing,
keep letting go.
My intention is to hold on to hope,
always,
no matter what.

My intention is to live,

no matter what.
To watch sunsets and sunrises with glowing eyes;
to take long, meandering walks;
to explore cities, small towns, markets, and myself;
to drink good coffee;
to speak my mind loud and clear;
to ask and seek an answer to the questions that rise in me;
to dress any way I please;
to fill my home with plants, art, books, and cats;
to be open to everything that comes my way;
to honour and give my all to both the good and the bad;
to do as little harm as possible;
to embrace the impossible;
to go where I am led;
to see the world in all its glory and all its terror;
to reconcile paradox;
to read every poem I can;
to compliment strangers;
to leave every place with a good thought;
to make wishes;
to nurture my inner child;
to strive to be the best I can be;
to allow myself to make mistakes;
to feel the sun on my skin and in my heart;
to try something new every day;
to grow;
to laugh;
to dream;
to comfort;
to be a light.
My intention is to live,
no matter what.

These are my intentions.

May body, soul, heart, and mind
conspire to keep to them.
May I return to them again and again.
May they burn bright within me
through every joy and every pain;
may they bring my own, special light to the world.
