It seems like everyone has an opinion about the Kardashian/Jenner family—most of them negative.

I, on the other hand, adore them.

It’s less about the money, fame, makeup lines, strange baby names, and revolving door of controversy, and more about how they love and support each other. Their fierce loyalty to family echoes the way I was raised.

It doesn’t hurt that I am also one of three loud, opinionated, dark-haired sisters who would do anything for each other.

In 2017, I was lucky enough to see pregnancy and motherhood through the eyes of both my sisters. I watched them grow tiny humans in their bellies. I saw their bodies change and felt those babies move inside them. I grew more attached to my sisters—these people who are the keepers of my memories—but I also discovered what it means to love someone you haven’t met yet.

Which is why I spent 11 minutes today crying while watching the video Kylie Jenner posted to her Instagram account announcing the birth of her baby girl.

Kylie chose not to confirm or post about her pregnancy over the past nine months, but this video serves as a tribute to both her child and her family. Take away the famous name and what you see is love and loyalty and the beautiful beginnings of motherhood.

For anyone who is a parent or longs to be a parent, this video may just change your mind about the Kardashians—or anyone else you may have judged as ungrateful, unmindful, or unlike you.
