If someone can help us in solving modern-day problems with the help of just a line or a quote, then that lifesaver is none other than lord Buddha.

Siddhartha Buddha or Gautama Buddha was a sage who influenced a lot of people with his teachings and beliefs. The meaning of the word “Buddha” is “the enlightened one” or “the awakened one.”

Lord Buddha taught a lot of things throughout his life and gained a lot of followers. To this date, a lot of people, such as monks, worship and follow the teachings of Buddha. His sayings are believed to bring people to peace with the help of meditation and worship.

However, people are very busy with their lives and they do not have the time for meditation or worship. The mental peace required to meditate and understand the meaning of lord Buddha’s teachings is very hard to get.

Fear not, because I’m here to tell you the meaning of some of the quotes from lord Buddha:

“Better than a thousand hollow words is one word that brings peace.”

In our day-to-day life, we say a lot of negative things to ourselves. Here, Buddha refers to them as hollow words, because, according to him, negativity is something that is created by us for ourselves. Buddha wants to convey the message that even one word of wisdom is enough to overcome all those negative thoughts. If you just get one positive thought in a day, you will forget all about those negative thoughts you were getting.

“Your work is to discover your world and then with all your heart, give yourself to it.”

This quote can be used in two ways:

Either, Buddha is referring to “love” with the help of the word “world” and he wants to convey the message that humans are here to spread love, and, when they find the one they truly love, they must make them an important factor in their life.

Or, Buddha wants to tell people to follow their passion. The only way to achieve peace in life is to first find your true passion and then working hard to live with that passion for the betterment of your physical and mental existence.

“Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.”

Here, Buddha wants to say that concentrating on what you are doing at the moment is the most important and a wise thing to do. People often spend their time either thinking about what happened in the past or worrying about what will happen in the future. Buddha wants people to know that in order to be at peace with oneself, one must take full advantage of the moment that he/she is in.

“When you realize how perfect everything is, you will tilt your head back and laugh at the sky.”

This quote is filled with positivity. Buddha wants to say that the moment we will understand that we do not need anything to be happy and just the reason for our existence is perfect, we will look up to the sky and be thankful to God. You don’t need anyone or anything other than yourself to be happy. The day you’ll realize that, you’ll be happy and at peace with yourself. Mental peace comes from within, and only you can help yourself in achieving it.

“All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think, we become.”

Buddha wants to say that what we are today is the result of the things we thought about previously. Buddha wants us to understand that our mind possesses unfathomable excellence and our thoughts can help us in becoming the human being who we want to become. Pure passion and determination can help you in achieving anything you want to achieve.

“It’s a man’s own mind, not his enemy or foe, that lures him to evil ways.”

Buddha wants to convey the message that the only reason why a person does what he/she does is the thinking of that person. It doesn’t matter how many enemies or foes a person might have. If a person does evil things, it’s because of his/her own mind. Only you can control what you do, and only you can manipulate yourself for doing something you don’t actually want to do. So, in order to avoid doing bad things, start by controlling your mind.

“The whole secret of existence is to have no fear. Never fear what will become of you, depend on no one. Only the moment you reject all help are you freed.”

Being independent is the key to living a happy and peaceful life. You only depend on someone when you have a fear of something.

You need to overcome your fears in order to live an independent and peaceful life. You have the capability of achieving anything you desire, and you do not need the help of any other person in doing so.

These quotes have a very deep meaning to them, and I was able to apply them in my life. The result was amazing, as I was able to understand many things that I never even thought about.

Letting go of all the fear, dependency, anger, hate, and every other negative thing is the key to living a positive life.

Buddha spent his life spreading his teachings about spirituality and peace of mind. It’s time to apply those teachings to our life in order to stay positive and peaceful.
