THE ONLY 3 REASONS YOU ARE EVER OVEREATING (PART 1/3)

You want so desperately to figure out what the hell is going on with your food.

Your day begins incredibly… you have all your meals prepped for the day, you’re going well… then, slowly slowly, next thing you know, you’re at the end of your day, and find yourself in the kitchen, elbows deep in a family size bag of doritos.

AGAIN.

It’s so disheartening, frustrating, and you feel helpless as hell.

Listen, I hear you and let me help you by sharing with you the ONLY 3 REASONS WHY YOU ARE OVEREATING.

With this clarity, you’ll be able to pinpoint and know EXACTLY why you have been overeating.

You’ll then be able to move forward with RELIEF, knowing you ain’t crazy, and knowing exactly what to do to stop overeating.

YAHOO !!!

So here’s the deal, the ONLY 3 REASONS WHY YOU ARE EVER OVEREATING:

1. You’re not EATING enough
2. You’re not FEELING enough
3. You’re not PRESENT enough

Most of the time, the reason why you are overeating is a combination of the 3.

There’s going to be 3 parts to this series where I’ll go into detail on all 3 Reasons and what they mean.

Today, i’m covering Reason #1 – YOU’RE NOT EATING ENOUGH

I’m going to break down what it means by “YOU’RE NOT EATING ENOUGH” into 3 categories:

1. RESTRICTION/DIETING

Not eating enough can mean that you have restricted your intake of food for the past few days, weeks, months or years via dieting or in an attempt to lose some weight, and inevitably your body is malnourished and wanting a large volume of food to make up for that malnourishment.

The body is very good at adapting, so while you may be able to restrict calories for up to 3,4,7,10 years, without any noticeable symptoms, restricting food WILL catch up to you, it’s just a matter of WHEN.
Your body will rebel against you.. (which isn’t actually your body rebelling against you, it’s actually trying to f*cking keep you alive and healthy).

Additionally, you may be subconsciously or unknowingly restricting because you are not tuned into just how much food your body is requiring from you on any given day.

So, take inventory.

Have you been dieting or restricting in the last few days, weeks or years?

If so, this may be a contributing factor as to why you are overeating.

2. NEGLECT

Not eating enough can mean you haven’t eaten enough in the first half of your day, due to running around, working, being busy, etc, so you have neglected your appetite and hunger signals and prioritised other things.

So, by the end of the day when things have quietened down, your body is in a more relaxed state, you realize just how hungry you are, and as soon as you take that first bite, your metabolism starts revving up, and because you haven’t eaten anything for the whole day, your body is like, “OMG, HAVE TO GET IT ALL IN NOW, WHO KNOWS WHEN YOU’RE GOING TO FEED US NEXT. AHHHHH”.

On top of that, you’re so hungry and you’re probably eating really fast, so it’s super hard to tune in and recognise when you are full.

So, take inventory.

Are you eating enough in the first half of your day?

If not, this may be a contributing factor as to why you are overeating.

3. MACRONUTRIENTS & MICRONUTRIENTS

Not eating enough can mean you haven’t eaten enough of a particular macro nutrient.

Macronutrients are foods that we require in LARGE amounts, hence macro.

These are – PROTEIN, FATS and CARBOHYDRATES.

When you are lacking in protein, fats or carbs, there are subtle signs to look out for, that I won’t be going into here.

But if you aren’t aware of these signs, your body can just tell you, “HEY, I’M HUNGRY” without being specific about what it is hungry for.

So, you may grab some bread when you’re hungry, but what your body ACTUALLY NEEDS and is hungry for is more fats or more protein.

Without knowing the subtle body signs to look out for, simply taking inventory of the past few days and seeing how much protein, fats or carbs you have had (or lack of), will bring some more awareness as to if you are lacking in any of them.

ADDITIONALLY, your body may tell you it is hungry, because it is lacking in MICRONUTRIENTS – your minerals and vitamins, because you’re not getting in enough nutritious and nourishing foods.

That is also something to take note of as to why you may be overeating.

So there you have it.

PART 1 of “THE ONLY 3 REASONS WHY YOU ARE EVER OVEREATING”.

Stay tuned for part 2, where I will be going into what I mean when I say, “Not Feeling Enough”.
