I recently saw James Blake in concert.
I’m not an obsessive fan, but my partner absolutely loves him, so we went together to his Denver show.
He does have excellent original songs.
But my favorite part of the evening was when he performed his cover of “A Case Of You,” by—I shouldn’t even have to say it—Joni Mitchell.
This song has always been a favorite of mine—and I know I’m not alone in that.
And, while I’m not claiming that Blake’s version is as earth-shakingly astounding as the original, it is pretty damn good.
If you, like me, had never heard this cover before, prepare to be a little—or a lot—obsessed:
