To show up and to take that first step is essential when looking for a new adventure. No matter how scary the prospect of new love may be. It shouldn’t be scary, but yet it can be, at first.

To start: you’re faced with an empty box that reads describe yourself.  This is the tricky part, as you don’t want to overshare and you want that air of mystery and excitement to why you are unique and fabulous.

If you haven’t done anything of the sort. You are presented with an online shopping catalogue of men or women. They come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colours. The goal is to find someone who has a similar ‘sell-by date’ before we all expire and die.

Most profiles will read something like this;
Hi, I’m….  5’9”
I love music and watching a film, and if I had one wish, I wish to win the lottery.
I don’t like dishonesty, or arrogant people, or fake people for that matter.
I’m passionate about my job, friends, and family. Friends and family. Friends and family.
I smoke, but rarely, and love spending time in the gym. In the gym. In the gym.

It’s daunting and most certainly an overwhelming experience. Apparently there’s plenty of fish in the sea, but after a while, all the profiles seem to merge into one and I can’t seem to find that one fish meant for me.

What happened to old classic courting? Has the world changed that much that everything is becoming a virtual shopping experience? Especially in times like these.

It’s a match, but wait, he’s 100 miles away. I sure hope that Amazon can ship that one – It’s essential goods. I’m looking for a long term relationship, cozy nights in, and walks on the beach.
