Moments in Between

Hide not your words
Even when you tremble
And your tongue is tangled

Sing to her
Even when the chords are choppy
And the lyrics sloppy
Hold her
Even when the embers are dying

Talk to her
As if you were speaking to the trees
Honor her roots
Yet challenge her perspective
Be her soil
When her seeds are fertile
Be her wind
When she’s ready for more
Do not cage her
Let her soar

Love isn’t always green
Sometimes it’s a molten red
And seemingly dead

Love is more than an August rush
Sometimes it’s a September hush
