Shadow Song

In this sacred stillness
I spoke
Words long overdue
Trampled on by the talkers
Ignored by the crowds
Yet here
I have a captive audience
For the first time I saw
I am not alone in my solitude
The spores split and life….
Well life found a way
Like she always does
Even in the dead of winter
The atoms danced in the swirl of shadows
Life herself conversed
Through breath and sunlight
This language of light
Of which we are all literate
Yet very few read
We all have access
Yet very few step through the portal
This gateway has no lock and key
It’s found in the spaces
Between you
And Me
