Relationship Tip 101: Why We Should Not Ignore Our Nerdy Partners

Dating has already become a real-life game. Everybody is looking for the perfect love and running after scoring a potential partner after every once in a while unless they finally feel settled in a relationship. But is there a certain criterion which has to be fit when it comes to landing a significant other? Well, of course! A brutally honest, weird-self cannot possibly last us a lifetime. For at least the initiation of the relationship, one can see what traits to highlight and which ones to keep at bay until further notice.

According to recent statistical publications about dating on Statista, an estimated 81% of Millennials say that personality is the most attractive factor when it comes to looking for a potential date. With such high numbers attributing to personality, even I thought the nerdy date that I just landed has got no game.

Well, guess what, I was in for a surprise.

Nerds have proven to be some of the best partners to their dates. With many benefits pouring over their umbrella, if you also have landed one, then you better not ignore him/her because they will be your ride or die in no time!

Why A Nerdy Partner Is Actually A Blessing In Disguise.

Here are some seven splendid reasons why we shouldn’t be ignoring our next nerdy date in line! Instead, keep these reasons in mind and find ourselves being attracted to them more and more on the course of our relationship.

1.     They are always in love with a particular thing or two at any given time.

Nerds will never let the relationship get to that boring phase, where both the partners have run out of ideas for new things to try together. They are always in love with a thing or two, in particular, continuously obsessing over it until it fizzles out, and then they move onto find something else. There is always something new and exciting that keeps their attention intact, both to knowing more about it and getting to try it with their partner. Indeed very sweet if you ask us because it is loads better than the partner who loses interest not only in things to do but eventually in their partner as well, looking for the spark of a newfound love elsewhere.

2.     They understand the weird side of things.

According to a survey released in honor of our great geek friends and nerds in general, 61% of the survey respondents self-identified as nerds. Now, if more than half of the survey population has the nerve to accept that they are nerds willingly, then why would they not understand the weird attributes of our personality? Nothing will ever be awkward or embarrassing in front of our partners again. The reason is that not only will they explain the situation for themselves but for us as well. They will make us feel more comfortable and confident to be how we are and embrace all our weird quirks.

3.     They have addictive personalities.

Nerds are not necessarily nerdy about just movies, games, a particular genre of music, or any other specific detail. They can be just as obsessive, addicting, and nerdy about their partner. And as for dating aficionados, we all know how much does attention value in a relationship. It is like an unspoken but widely known and accepted secret that most of us date for validation and attention in general. So what better way of getting that than having your very own person madly obsessing over every detail about you? On the contrary, we do recommend keeping things under control before they become too annoying and a whole different reason why we would not want to date a nerd.

4.     They are straight forward – No more playing tricks and mind games.

Nerds don’t like to overly complicate a thing, which is why they are pretty straight forward when it comes to relationships. According to a survey conducted by the dating app Plenty of Fish, an estimated 60% of singles have experienced getting a number from a potential date but getting ignored when reached out. On the flip side, 35% of singles admitted having done that to others. But with a nerd, you don’t have to worry about playing around such dial-toning games. One can be just as straight forward about how you feel about them, and they will readily accept it.

5.     They are very much self-aware and have thick skin.

For once, I don’t have to worry about somebody else calling them out or calling me out for that matter for dating a nerd. They are very much self-aware and have thick skin to admit being one. So they do not mind being calling out for their nerdiness. In fact, it will be surprising to find out that they will throw a fact or two around just to mess with the person who is trying to pull their leg.

6.     They’ll be cool with the tech and gadgets.

Today, there are almost 5.11 billion unique mobile users, according to Data Reportal. With such high numbers, it is highly likely that one of our nerdy-nummy is also one of these unique users who are into mobile devices and gadgets in general and just an overall tech-enthusiast. Now wouldn’t it be a serious flex in front of friends to be occupied with the latest gadgets, and that too with someone who has all the knowledge in detail about them. Sounds cool to us!

7.     They are a perfectionist and a problem solver at their core.

Nerds are a problem solver at their core. One can easily leverage things off of them because they will find the best solution for their blues. They strive for perfection in everything they set out to do so as their partner, you can expect everything to be at its best when it is presented to you, a definite win-win situation.

Bottom Line

All in all, nerds are genuine and humble souls at heart. They place their interest in details and numbers because it keeps their genius brains churning, but their hearts are in a good place that requires unrequited love just the same. So why not pledge to have a one less lonely nerd in this world!
