Sweet Words for your Wounded Heart & Worn Out Soul.

If you feel lost, this one is for you:

I know you are worn out and fatigued. Your emotions are acidic, and the well wishes of others are like counterfeit dollars—fickle and dispensable.

Too bad money can’t buy you freedom from the shackles of skepticism that have fastened themselves to your heart.

I know your fists are sore from clenching them at your sides and cursing the trauma. Your stomach is twisted in knots, and each time you swallow it feels as though gravel is coating your throat. It’s from the countless nights of gripping your pillow—the countless nights of weeping.

But trust me when I say, you are right where you need to be.

I know the world seems unfair. I know you cannot help but wonder: “What about my happy ending?”

I believe you when you say it’s like a thick rope tethers your ankles and wrists. You feel like a puppet forced to play the lead role in a drama you did not audition for. You feel like your hopes and dreams have been tossed over the deck and anchored to the depths of the ocean—I empathize with you.

But trust me when I say, you are right where you need to be.

There will come a time when trusting others will be easy. It will be soothing, like inhaling sea breeze amidst the summer solstice.

I know that, right now, worrying incessantly about your next move is what feels familiar. Your mind is a noisy auditorium, and those cynical, negative thoughts speak the loudest.

I know you feel like you cannot turn down the volume.

I know you want to amplify the voice of optimism, but you can’t find a microphone amidst the destruction.

And so your worries begin to chant louder as if to mock you:

Are you on the right track?

Have you done the right thing?

Can you trust yourself?

Where will you go from here?

But please believe me when I say, you are right where you need to be.

I know this to be true. I know that what falls down, will rise again (Newton’s third law of motion is the rule of the universe).

And besides, you do not question whether the sun will rise each morning—why question your ability to overcome your darkness?

You are becoming. You are evolving. You are shedding many molds and facades. This is the process.

Loving yourself will not always feel like a tedious chore. One day it will be serene, like sailing along the intercostal.

Your mistakes will not always feel like revisiting a battlefield. They will be an incredible testimony of your growth.

And when that day arrives, and you have reached your pinnacle of happiness—you are madly in love with life and everything it has to offer, you once again believe in the inherent good in people, and you’re not afraid to love fearlessly—do not assume it is too good to be true. Do not question whether or not you are worthy.

Simply trust me when I say, you are right where you need to be.
