This is why
So many healers are alone
Romantically
Because of the danger of attraction
Because: physician, heal thyself
Because what is in me can help millions
Or, bleed out all at once
In the merciless hands of a narcissist
Because it would be nice to be loved
By another
As I love
Limitlessly
But it’s not the priority
I am the priority
Caring for me
Healing me
Holding me
Protecting me
Growing me
Stoke the fire
Fan the flames
Because what is within me
Is more precious than gold
And it is what the world needs
And to squander it needlessly
On a single, selfish individual
Is sacrilege
