Demystifying Artificial Intelligence…

Intelligence used to be the territory of humans alone, but it no longer is. We don’t program the machines they learn by themselves…

I mean, how surprising is it, that humans have extended to a stage when we can make Artificial Intelligence as life-like as plausible.

“Neural Networks” – I’m confident you must have heard this term a billion times.. uh, no wait, a zillion times if you are from the field of data science, machine learning, or Artificial intelligence.

Neural Networks are a much simpler virtual form of the human brain. 85 billion neurons, each of which is constantly dropping, receiving, refining, and circulating information, we have developed systems where we could imitate this complex structure. How fascinating is that?

Well, what are the strongest kinds of systems? I consider when humans and machines work collectively, those are the finest systems.

One of the biggest fallacies of AI is that there is a super-intelligent being or what we claim is a generalized AI that knows all, can do all, wiser than all of us put together.

But undoubtedly, AI is based on us; AI is mirroring our thought process; AI is essentially an emulation of us.

Human cooperation is the most influential force in human history but, human cooperation with intelligent machines will determine the next age of history.

Physics tells us we can’t be substantially present at two distinct places at the same moment but, with AI, it’s virtually possible. We can build our own avatars i.e., clone ourselves. This can essentially be termed as – Mirage of data and Identity.

BUT…

Will AI replace humans?

Maybe I’m uncertain about that, but one piece that I can affirm with absolute certainty is that AI will enhance lives.

Will we ever be able to make an AI that can speculate on its own? A second artificial version of me, that is genuinely autonomous? Me that can think on its own while the actual me is taking a nap?

Impossible?

Well, if we consider what human cooperation has already achieved, a man on the moon, unraveling the human genome, discovering faraway galaxies…

I’d put my cash on Mark and Gill over the “earth is flat” folks any time.
