On the other end of the world, there’s a powerful woman doing good work. We run across one another, from time to time, over the interwebs, and through a mutual friend. Finally, the other day—just minutes after I learned my town had suffered its first mass shooting—we connected. We discussed how to fight climate change, talked about whether nihilism is useful, argued about a George Carlin quote.
