The Word C*nt

Now everyone in the English speaking world is familiar with the word cunt.  It sounds aggressive phonetically and is never used by nan’s.

It causes instant offence, and presents the listener of the word with the image of female genitals painted in an aggressive manner.  Aiming ‘cunt’ at an individual suggests for each gender different things – women are some form of horrid prostitute and a man becomes an abhorrent person.

You can say a situation is a cunt and everyone knows instantly that  it is the most difficult situation in the world and denotes an almost impossible situation most times.

It can be a term of endearing friendship when used to describe a humorous person, as in ‘he’s a funny cunt’ or the inverse and friendly – ‘don’t be a funny cunt’.

It is used to express abject sorrow – ‘ok i admit, i was being a cunt’ this shows full empathy and appreciation of how horrid someone has acted.

Why then does the word ‘cunt’ hold such offence?

  • The definition of the word cunt is ‘Cunt (/kʌnt/) is a vulgar word for the vulva or vagina and is also used in a variety of other ways, including as a term of disparagement. The usage is reflected in national variations’
  • In Australia it can be positive and in cultured British circles it’s acceptable as long as the person is the same class or wealth as the person hearing the word cunt.

If I ask you to clear your mind and think of the word that is most offensive in most circles after removing internationally recognised racial slurs, cunt is right there.  Then think of the first word (no racial slurs) which is most offensive,  for most English speakers the word ‘cunt’ comes to mind, why not war, rape or genocide? I cannot help but wonder!

Then try an think of at least one person or situation that could be described using the word ‘cunt’, there i have gifted you the ability for the instant and precise ability to describe that person or situation.

Why are the words ‘war’ or ‘rape’ or ‘pedophile’ not the most offensive? Surely  ‘genocide’ or  ‘rape’ are more offensive in definitions than the humble ‘cunt’ could ever dream to be.

If words make language, language forms thought into ideas, ideas into reality and reality into our experience of conscious exploration?

Why does one little offensive four letter word ‘cunt’ cause universal horror?

I personally cannot locate how its effected either  reality or my conscious experience, then why is it so bad?

It is a cunt of a problem to under why the word ‘slut’ is not worse the word ‘cunt’?

Culturally avoided, erased or unused words,  would then do what if they remained?

The premise is that saying a word creates a reality, but what reality does the word cunt create?
