Gentle she said

?~

Do not demand my heart to open
For that is like demanding a rose to bloom
Do not stare
For I will break your gaze
Do not yell louder so I can hear
For I am near
Do not seduce with honey and milk
For I hunger and thirst for more
Do not pound on my castle door
For the key cannot be found
Nor gather ropes or ladders
For these walls cannot be climbed
You’re just destined to fall
Still I can hear loves desperate call

If you please wait
Patiently and persistently
If you shelter me from the rain
Like an unassuming umbrella in my garden
I may unfold
And tell stories untold
If you show me your soul
And meet me at daybreak
With nothing to give or take
But open hands and open eyes
And a heart that never lies
Just like a sun that surprises
In between the morning dew
I might look at you
I just might let you through
Open the golden gates
And invite you inside
Where I like to hide.
