This weekend, we end Eclipse season with a Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse in the sign of Scorpio.

Scorpio is fixed water—it tends to hold onto emotions. This energy may be just the push we need to surrender to the unknown and release the stagnant emotions within.

Scorpio rules intimacy, shared resources, death (physical and metaphorical), sex, and taboo topics. These themes may show up in our personal lives, as well as in the collective.

I’ve been feeling as if I’m stuck—as if the path I was traveling on, the one that felt so right in my heart, has left me facing a brick wall. It can be frustrating, but it’s also helpful for me to know we are smack dab in the middle of eclipses because what would once be scary now feels safe since I know this is how it’s meant to be.

Lunar Eclipses are not to be feared as they once were. They happen in the ways we need them the most—whether we know it consciously or not. Eclipses can fast-track us into the next chapter of our lives, sometimes by adding or removing things that no longer serve us—in our physical environment or our inner world.

It is okay to let go. I am making space to receive what’s meant for me.

The other day, I had a session with my coach and I had a huge moment of realization. I realized my safe place is alone—just as it was when I was a child. I was brought back to a moment in my childhood where I was begging to be seen; to be found, trying to confirm I was worthy.

A theme that still follows me today. For the past year or so, I’ve isolated myself because that is where I am comfortable.

It feels like now is the time for me to release the old story of needing to be alone to feel comfortable. How timely for it to come up during the eclipse in Scorpio (which rules vulnerability and intimacy with ourselves and others) while the sun is in Taurus (which rules self-worth and values).

The sign of Scorpio at the highest expression is open, trustworthy, loyal, and vulnerable. It knows that crying and releasing is healing. It feels so safe—safe enough to be intimate with ourselves and others. It’s the ultimate healer—able to intuit and connect in the most spiritual way—unafraid of change because it knows it will rise like the Phoenix in the end.

Our beliefs are born in childhood. It’s wild to think that we’ve decided what these brief moments in time mean about us. We carry them for as long as it takes to desire change.

The Full Moon will ask us to release old stories that have been holding us back by illuminating something that needs to change in order to move forward. I can already feel this within myself—I wonder if you can too?

It may show up as a challenge and ask us to step back and tune in with our hearts.

The Full Moon is in conflict with Saturn in the sky, which means it’s time to either get serious or adjust. Saturn represents discipline and this conflict can feel like an uncomfortable poke in the side. It will require us to get real about our priorities and ask ourselves if this is something we are still committed to.

Is this relationship, job, or belief still serving me? Am I willing to put in the work or is it time to move on? Am I taking responsibility, or am I playing the blame game?

Whatever happens, the beautiful connection to Neptune encourages us to lean into trust and trust that the Universe has our back; not only trust in the Universe but trust in ourselves—in our intuition. Allow space in the silence and ask for signs from your angels, guides, and any other source in which you believe.

There is also a nice connection to Mars which gives us the motivation to keep moving forward. This work isn’t easy, but we’re feeling motivated to see what’s on the other side of the struggle. All the hard work is paying off, or not, but at least now we get the chance to course-correct.

Lastly, the ruler of this Full Moon is Pluto, which is now retrograde. The best use of this time is to reflect on how far we’ve come and to celebrate all that we’ve accomplished. Sometimes we can become hyper-focused on all that’s gone wrong and fail to see all that’s gone right.

Celebrate yourself. You’ve earned it!

The power of Pluto is on our side. There may be discomfort, but with any change comes an opportunity to face the discomfort of letting go.

Here are some ways to work with the energy:

Notice any need to control.

With loss can come fear. By noticing what is out of our control we can begin to release and surrender by facing it head-on. This can help us to let go of anything that no longer serves us with more ease.

Take a time out.

By spending time with ourselves, we can better receive any insights that will help us move forward. I plan to spend time with that childhood version of me and ask her what she needs. In the moments of space, those parts of us are given more access to our conscious mind where we are then able to make adjustments. Usually, what we’re afraid of is actually the thing that will set us free—be curious.

Make a list of priorities.

Chances are, a lot of us are prioritizing things that aren’t important. By making a list of everything on our plate, we can recognize what is actually important—and what is actually our responsibility. We may come to find out that how we’ve been spending our time isn’t doing anything for us. Are we burnt out because of all the responsibilities we’ve taken on to be our own? By releasing things that don’t light us up, we make room for the things that do.
