The Pema Chödrön Quote that Never Fails to Calm my Anxious Mind.

If you know me personally, then you know I’m an extremely calm and patient person.

I’d say I’m grounded and in touch with my emotions and thoughts. However, what you might not realize is that I have high-functioning anxiety and overthinking is my, ahem, specialty.

Meditation and various other practices have tremendously helped me throughout the years, but every now and then, I still crumble when I face obstacles.

The unknown constantly occupies my mind, especially if things aren’t looking good—or promising.

In such moments, I revert to Buddhism—Pema Chödrön’s teachings in particular. Her words calm my anxious mind and remind me of what’s truly important: now.

If you ever feel overly anxious or unable to control your overthinking habits, read this quote:

“Letting there be room for not knowing is the most important thing of all. When there’s a big disappointment, we don’t know if that’s the end of the story. It may just be the beginning of a great adventure. Life is like that. We don’t know anything. We call something bad; we call it good. But really we just don’t know.” ~ Pema Chödrön
