He challenged power.
He challenged authority and rules.
He challenged neglect.
He challenged looking through people instead of seeing them.
He challenged the finality of death.
He listened.
He lived without ostentation.
He rejected lies and the twisting of words.
He rejected empty forms.
He rose above grudges.
He encouraged.
He shared.
He worked within the confines of his time to change his time.
He was disciplined and flexible.
He was boundless in love, not blind.
He was joyful.
He gave stories of healing to humanity.
He cried.
He stayed with the dying, the hungry, the confused.
On Christmas day silently honor kinship with an ancestor, pointing to the holy.
