Do you remember when in your childhood days your grandparents or your parents used to recite bedtime stories to you and you’ll imagine yourself to be the protagonist of that story and quickly fall asleep to dream about that story? It sounds so fascinating, right?
Now that tradition of bed-time stories has diminished but there is a different concept of story-telling that has become crucial these days.
We all are the Protagonist of our own Story
In this judgmental society where people judge based on other person’s social status, bank balance, physical appearance and basically everything and anything, how can we take some time to listen to another person’s point of view before we pass our judgment on their situation?
We are so Quick to Judge
‘Oh, look at that guy in his Mercedes, he’s so lucky to have it all!’
‘Oh, see that guy fighting with that girl, why are men so dominating?’
‘Wow, look at that girl in that beautiful gown, she looks so happy!’
Well, that ‘guy in his Mercedes’ might not be ‘lucky’ as you don’t know how much he had to work before he could afford such luxury in his life.
‘That fight you saw between a girl and a boy could be just in their own playful ways and didn’t mean anything to either of them and just a unique way to express their love for each other’.
‘That girl you saw in a beautiful gown might have an inferiority complex and still not feel beautiful with her own self even after wearing a beautiful dress.’
What this World actually Needs?
Instead of judgment, this world actually needs a bit of humanity, patience and an understanding of other’s stories instead of giving their unnecessary opinions.
Don’t see————– Understand
Don’t hear———– Listen
Don’t assume——– Ask
In short, Don’t JUDGE
We are humans, so a little bit of (HUMAN)ity should be expected from us, right? So, where is the humanity in passing judgment without knowing the actual story from A-Z?
‘If you judge a movie after watching only the first half of it, then you shouldn’t be watching that movie in the first place.’ – Gratisoul
So, the next time when you catch yourself or others judging any third person you know what to do right? If you know that third person, then instead of making presumptions, ask, and actually ‘be there’ for him/her. Because they might just need you to be there for them. Afterall at the end of the day, we all are humans and want someone who can understand us, understand our story and just be there for us to let us know that everything will be fine!!
