Ring Around The Rosie

Ring Around The Rosie

This is how my days are feeling lately. Like I am continually going around and around wondering if and when I will fall and how quickly I can pick myself back up again.

When lockdown began on December 26th, I stayed working, I say lucky, only because getting up, getting dressed, and walking to work everyday gave me something to do, and because being at home wasn’t going to do my overthinking mind any good.

A memory showed up on my facebook today, this day last year I was skiing in the morning before my shift started in the afternoon. Today, one year later is a totally different story. When I stepped outside for my walk today, I can see the empty ski hills because I live next to Blue Mountain, and am reminded that COVID is still alive and that we are still in lockdown number two.

I was laid off on Friday and that’s okay, I’m okay. It is what it is. It’s only been, like what, six days at home since receiving that phone call from work, but somehow it feels like forever.

I have returned to my yoga practice and have also started teaching online classes again. I have found peace in both. I have also started mini home workouts too. I have many things to keep me busy during the day, but I also remind myself that I don’t have to do everything all at once.

It’s funny though, how you often wish for more time so you can do more things, then when you are given more time it almost stands still, and more so when you are told to stay home.

I hope everyone is enjoying their time off, if you have some, and you are able to focus more on yourself and do the things that bring you joy and peace.

Perhaps you are taking this opportunity to change the direction in which you were going along your life’s path, because maybe what you were doing before all this started wasn’t really working in the first place, and you are able to see that now.

I hope we can all soon go back to normal, a very different one at that, because COVID is changing us for the better. For it is opening our hearts and minds to what truly matters in this life.

I hope we can stop this game of Ring Around The Rosie with COVID one day real soon. I hope that it is COVID that falls down, while we all remain standing tall for having conquered it. I hope that one day we can all step outside, join arms and hug one another.

May you be happy.
May you be healthy.
May you be safe.
May you live in peace.

In love and light my friends
