To my wonderful friends Elise and Taylor:
Friends can make lemons taste like a zing-sweet pie
There you are standing steady on this your path of life,
It may look sometimes gray and vague
Like if walking on “Foggy Town”
When friends show up they scream of sunshine, definitely rays of love and fun!
Friendship has no need of instruction, there is care, support, laughter and sometimes undeclared love
We couldn’t be more different and yet we scream: We are all for one!
There has yet to exist a day, when I see you and not smile, I love your pancakes and when you share all those thoughts that you don’t just share with everybody in your life.
I love you when you are happy but also when you are sad
Love is not merely reserved for good but specially for the bad
And I am here for you, I would like to say . . . the long run.
We drink chamomile hot tea and eat fruit tarts, we celebrate life.
You let me read you poems while you cook and that to me is grand,
We talk about purpose, about what amazing teachers you both are
You make mulled wine and salmon tacos,
How could I ask more from life?
This poem is an ode to friendship, particularly ours.
We are certainly foolish, we can be crazy, we can even be wise
We make totally weird gingerbread houses, definitely not our forte yet so much fun!
Out of the three hundred and sixty five days in the year,
Maybe we see each other about 9, we remain connected, but we also give each other space to live our lives.
Thank you for being so genuine, thank you for your kindness and love
I treasure both of you, what an amazing luck I have!
This poem is for both of you, my “mon amies” the French would write,
You are imperfect and truthful, so beautiful, my lucky stars!
Totally not lame, expressing your love for friends, for they are the sparkling bubbles in our normal plane water, type of day!
