These are the final words shared to the jury by the prosecution in the trial of Derek Chauvin, who has been charged in the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
These words have begun the healing process for the scabbed-over wounds in my own heart.
I think there may be nothing more to ask of those left behind than for our hearts to be remembered after we have left this life. George Floyd deserves to have his heart defended and we, as a human race, deserve to see him as a fellow human with a heart worthy of defending.
