Colorado is without a doubt one of the most amazing and nature blessed states in the United States of America. And there is much to see and do here. So much so that it can be confusing. But you don’t want that to spoil the fun for you, do you? I guess not.
This is why to help you find the find around on this trip. I have compiled a list of the best things to do in Colorado. This isn’t a big list, but it is based on my experience. With this being said, let’s get into it:
Red Rocks Amphitheatre
Red Rock Amphitheatre is probably one of the most amazing places to visit in all of Colorado. Located near the Morrison, this is a stone formation.
As such, it will only take you around 15 minutes to reach this place from Denver. And let us tell you, this place is raw nature.
There is a theory that this place was used by the Ute Tribe before they decide to move west. Moreover, the rock formation here provides quite an ideal acoustics for musical performances. We have to say, quite a fitting place for a ROCK concert.
If you are a music lover, this place is a must check out for you. You just have to check this place out. Plus, several concerts take place here. So, you can take part in one of them too.
Mesa Verde National Park
Located just southwest of Colorado, is the Mesa Verde. The term “Mesa Verde” itself is meant Green Table in Spanish. A fitting name for a national park.
It was deemed one back in 1906, but then-president Theodore Roosevelt. In addition to being a fantastic national park, it is also a renowned world heritage site, that houses the preserved Puebloan Cliff Dwellings.
This is a location that serves both History lovers and nature enthusiasts. You will be surprised to learn that this land has been inhabited by nomadic tribes since 7500 BC. And Scientists say that the first Pueblos has created in the year 650 AD.
Moreover, you can also witness that amazing cliff palace, and spend your time knowing more about these people in the Chapin Mesa Archeological Museum.
Not to forget the Mesa Top Loop Road, which offers some of the best views and canyon overlook across the entire god’s green earth.
Strawberry Parks Hot Springs
Following the natural theme, the next pick on our list is the Strawberry Parks Hot Springs. Most of you might have already guessed what this place is just by a look at the name. and it doesn’t disappoint.
This hot spring is probably the reason why most people book a flight to Colorado. Who wants to miss a chance to relax in a beautiful hot spring covered by nature. But be sure to bring your own, swimming wears.
In addition to this, this park also has areas where you can set up a picnic, and enjoy yourself with your whole family. in case, you fall too much in love with the place and want to stay there for the night, it also has facilities for night stay.
After all, what is better when mother nature herself offers you a fantastic Jacuzzi? The only right answer is nothing.
Great Sand Dunes National Park
You must be thinking there are too many national parks on this list, and in Colorado. And you aren’t wrong. This place is filled with nature, and we are thankful for that.
Great Sand Dunes National Park, is located in the south of Colorado. Standing against the rocky mountain national park, these dunes are something else. This park gives you a peak at how truly beautiful a desert can be.
In addition to this, there are a lot of outdoor fun activities related to sand here, and others too. You can either explore the trails, visit the nearby forest or even enjoy the wetlands sorrowing the dunes.
But if you are a sand lover. You can go sand suffering and other sports like that. and when you are all dried up in the desert, pay a visit to Medan lake. Being one of the several alpine lakes, this is a good sport for fishing.
