Living in Reverse, Looking for Answers?

We tend to ponder what our life purpose is to be. What am I to do with this life I’ve been given? What lessons should I be learning or teaching? Just what am I to do with what has been given to me?

Wouldn’t it be interesting if we could look back at our life at any given moment to see what we’ve accomplished. We don’t always remember the victories but we easily remember the defeats. We don’t have an instant replay button but it sure would be helpful sometimes.

There is a quote by Soren Kierkgaard – “Life can only be understood backwards but must be lived forward.” and another quote by Drake – “Smile and let everyone know that today you’re a lot stronger than yesterday.”

I believe when we pass, we receive this instant replay. A review of our life. We see the people who made a difference in our lives and those we impacted in their lives. We tend to not realize the importance of all the events of our lives at the time. We see the struggles we’ve been through and how we came out on the other side. I hope we receive a better understanding of why we had all these miraculous experiences.

I go back to the quote by Drake – “Smile and let everyone know that today you are a lot stronger than yesterday”. Doesn’t this make you think of how many times you smiled while inside you were falling apart? I’m always amazed at the strength of others. We witness others overcome fears. The strength it takes to not give up. We are the audience to the events others live through and we cheer them on. Do we forget to also be an audience to our own victories? I feel as though we do.

Everything is in divine timing. Instead of being in a rush or fearing life because of our surroundings we continue to march on. One step at a time, one moment at a time. We live our life forwards. We keep moving. We look for solutions everyday. Think about all the decisions you make in just one day. There are a lot more than we acknowledge.

I’ve often thought how life would be if we were born old and gradually regressed to a youngster. We would be born with knowledge and wisdom. However, we would slowly forget it. We would know the outcome before it occurred. I’ve got a lot of questions of why things happen the way they do. And I am inspired to know that one day I will have a better understanding. So, for now, I have to add to my list of questions. And for today or tomorrow I will smile knowing that I am a lot stronger than I was yesterday. We cannot live in reverse. We grow, we learn, we accept we gain wisdom. The other way around we would lose our wisdom, our acceptance and our growth.

Maybe we should strive to be the love we never received instead of being stuck in the thought of not receiving it. As I thought about this sentence, I reached for my Shaman Wisdom Deck. I wanted more clarity on this action. The cards I pulled were Anger, It’s All Good, Self Love and Divine Timing. The message: we may be angry about our situation, but know that it will be ok., show yourself self-love because everything is in divine timing. There is a reason for everything. And I know that can be a frustrating answer. The mystery of life is that we do not know what will happen or when it will happen. Rest assured my friends that life has an abundance of blessings waiting for you and for me. Be open to seeing them. Find the blessings. Live for the blessings and then share the blessings.

Pain is a part of life. We have a better understand when we think about how we came into this world. We came in naked and cold, kicking and screaming. We learned how to clothe ourselves in warm abundance.

To understand life backwards will be something I am not in a hurry for but I look forward to the answers. I will continue to move forward smiling everyday knowing I am stronger today than yesterday.

Blessings

Stacey
