New Moon in Gemini: 5 Ways to Boost Mental Energy & Embrace our Curiosity. {June 6}

Top-down, wind tousling our hair, dry heat breezing through our skin, and the sound of our laughter echoed through our new, soon-to-be hometown as we cruised along in our “upgraded” Mustang rental.

We had flown into California the night before to see the house we bought in person for the first time. I was tired but also thrilled!

I had just finished a New Moon call with my E.M.B.O.D.Y. One Mentorship, and my husband and I zoomed out of our hotel room, exploring, chatting, and scheming our move from St. Louis to California that would be happening in the next month.

Life felt like a joyful melody, and we were in imperfect harmony, darting from one furniture store to the next with an energy that seemed boundless.

I had so much going on at the time: I had just returned from a work trip with two of my best girlfriends days prior, we had a sitter at home with our newly adopted son, a foster kiddo in respite care, a retreat launching among other business projects, and a list of to-dos that somehow didn’t overwhelm me.

That was the New Moon in Gemini last year. It felt like a cosmic espresso shot for my brain, and was the ultimate elixir for mental rejuvenation.

It’s back on June 6th—and I am ready for it!

The New Moon in Gemini will bring streams of themes centered around communication, curiosity, and adaptability. Gemini is a sign associated with intellect, learning, and the exchange of ideas.

It is a wonderful time to boost mental energy and tap into our abundant wisdom.

Here are five ways I’ve learned to tap into abundant mental energy and get my mojo back:

1. Embrace the Curiosity Vortex. This is the perfect time to dive headfirst into learning something new. Think of it as giving your brain a shiny new toy to play with. Maybe you want to learn how to play the guitar, paint watercolors, or juggle. Even if it seems like a ridiculous challenge, go for it! You might have a few false starts or countless dropped balls, but eventually, you’ll find success.

Find your own curiosity vortex. Whether it’s learning to bake sourdough, picking up a few phrases in Mandarin, or understanding the stock market, let your mind wander and explore. Not only will you learn something fun, but you will also be enhancing your sacral chakra energy and opening up your creative nature.

2. Start a Thought Garden. If your mind feels like a tangled jungle, cultivate a thought garden. Grab your pen and journal, and start jotting down random thoughts, ideas, and snippets of inspiration. There will be some beautiful communicative energy supporting you to articulate in a way that might surprise you.

On the New Moon in Gemini last year, I scribbled down thoughts and design ideas that seemed utterly random at the time. Here I am a year later, looking around at the beautifully and authentically designed space I am sitting in, all because I had a blueprint of design ideas for our then-soon-to-be new home. It was a fun side project, and the results made me so joy-filled!

Tip on this one: don’t censor yourself! Let the words flow, and before you know it, your thought garden will be blooming with ideas. Maybe they won’t all be Pulitzer Prize material, but hey, roses have thorns, too, right?

3. Engage in Mental Gymnastics. Just as our bodies thrive with exercise, our minds expand by being challenged. The New Moon in Gemini is a prime time to engage in mental gymnastics! This could be anything from solving puzzles to diving into a new hobby that requires strategic thinking.

Find your mental gymnastics. It could be as simple as playing chess, writing poetry, or even coding a new app. Whatever stretches your mental muscles and gets those neurons firing.

4. Connect and Communicate. Gemini is all about communication and connection. Use this time to reach out to friends, family, or colleagues you haven’t spoken to in a while. Engaging in meaningful conversations can stimulate your mind and provide new perspectives. Try joining a new group or club where you can meet like-minded people and exchange ideas. These interactions can spark creativity and energize your mind, reminding you of the power of social connections in fueling mental energy.

5. Tackle Self-Doubt Head On. The New Moon in Gemini is a fantastic time to address and conquer self-doubt. This energy encourages introspection and honest communication, including with yourself. Identify areas where self-doubt creeps in, write those thoughts down, and then challenge them by replacing negative self-talk with positive perspectives.

For example, let’s say you’ve always wanted to start your own business but doubt your ability to succeed. Instead of letting that doubt fester, confront it directly. Write down specific reasons why you think you might fail, then counter each one with evidence of your strengths, past successes, and the support network you have in place. Remind yourself of times when you’ve overcome obstacles or achieved goals against the odds.

By reframing your doubts as challenges to be overcome, you shift your mindset from one of fear to one of determination. Wrap this up by engaging in activities that boost your confidence. By tackling self-doubt head-on, you clear the mental clutter and create space for new, positive energy.

The new moon in Gemini on June 6th is more than just a new moon—it’s an opportunity to rejuvenate and re-energize your mind.

By embracing curiosity, cultivating your thoughts, and engaging in mental challenges, you can harness the energy available and propel yourself out of any mental rut. And if all else fails, you’ve at least got a few new tricks up your sleeve and maybe a slightly cleaner thought garden.
