Mama Kelsey, my love, my wife, in all her glory! We’re just over a month out from B Day, whenever that may turn out to be. ⁠

She sent this photo to me just before a swim sesh with Leo at the Y in Indy, where we’ve spent many a happy splashy hour (her and Leo far more than me). I love to read an increasingly-wrinkled book in the hot tub there. I love riding there, too, on my bike, on the Cultural Trail (mostly), and will do so in all weather. ⁠

F*ck ICE (in this case, internal combustion engine, another evil of our times) Cars, let’s give our dear children a stable future on this beautiful planet instead! ⁠

For me, I’m voting in Boulder today! 

Not having managed to sell my house in Boulder, I’m still a Boulder boy, through and through. So many dear friendships, sangha/community, Trident, the Boulder Book Store, Nude Foods, Farmers’ Market, McGuckin Hardware and the knowledgeable staff in green vests, the Creek bike path, the parks behind my house, the mountains, my home sweet home here (eco, vegan household, the mindfulness and care embodied in my years here fills my heart with tender hope), the green and blond wild lands everywhere here (unlike in Indy, where the land is mostly overly civilized or polluted, in the City). ⁠

That said: I can’t wait to (this time drive my EV with Winnie, who hasn’t been out for 1.5 years) back to Indy, and be with dear Kelsey and her silly Leo and…our big-baby-to-come-shortly, due…right around the Nutcracker season, when Kelsey and I first met and went on our first date! ⁠

I can’t wait to welcome you, little one, thanks to all the loving care of your loving momma. We have a good home and fun tree-filled neighborhood for you, a good brother, and a good loving happy excited silly dad for you too! May we be good to animals and this earth, that is may be a good home for your generation, your hopes, your dreams, your life.⁠

Life-changing times ahead for me, having long longed for a wife and family and now baby all my life. My Boulder home and community beneath me, supporting me, as I miss it so when I’m gone.⁠

Life is full of both unexpected unwanted terrible challenges, and unexpected dream-come-true loveful gifts.
