Canada’s Heartwarming Message to Stressed Americans.

No matter what your political ideologies are, if you’re an American living during this outrageous election season, you’re probably feeling stressed.

You might be wondering what’s happening to our country. Where we’ve veered off course. What will become of us? How we’ll explain it all to our kids, to their kids?

Just like a best friend showing up with a hug and a warm vanilla latte, a bouquet of tacos or a bottle of whiskey, Canada is stepping in with a video to remind Americans that we’re loved just as we are—even during this whacked-out election season.

The video and viral social media movement was created by a Canadian branding company, The Garden.
The Garden published an article on Medium discussing their inspiration for creating the video and movement.

“It’s no secret that America is going through a hard time right now. The election has exposed some pretty scary realities that will likely challenge them for years to come, regardless of who’s elected. They’ve been bombarded with a tremendous amount of negativity and it’s likely that for many of them, the immediate future seems rather bleak.

It occurred to us that America could probably use a little cheering up. That’s why we created the Tell America it’s great campaign. As their closest friends and neighbours, we thought it was important for us to do something to cut through the negativity and help remind them that no matter how bad things might seem, there are a lot of reasons to believe that America is still pretty great.”  ~ The Garden

The video—which features smiling Canadians telling Americans that even though things feel pretty crazy right now, we’re still a pretty awesome country—feels like a warm fuzzy. It reminds us that though the repercussions of this chapter of American history are unknown and possibly long-lasting, it’s just one chapter in a long, compelling, inspiring story.

Thank you, Canada! America thinks you’re great too!
