Spiritual Growth does Not Happen when We are Meditating.

They asked her: “What is the key to saving the world?”

She answered: “You. You are the key. Heal yourself, know yourself, make yourself whole and free. Release all limits so that your love can flow unconditionally for yourself and the world. This will open the heaven of your heart completely and it will guide you without fail.” ~ @yung_pueblo

 

The most important type of spiritual growth doesn’t happen when you’re meditating or on your yoga mat.

It happens in the midst of conflict—when you are frustrated, angry, or scared, doing the same old thing, but then, suddenly, you realize that you have a choice to do it differently.

Picture yourself knowing how to restore your vitality; when mind, body, heart, and breath harmonize to elevate your consciousness and stabilize your inner peace.

Moments when I remember nothing last forever give me permission to try it all, or at least attempt to. Keeping all the portals of my body open, ready to receive and give, has been a remarkable part of my human experience.

Every part of our body that has the ability to open and close, is a portal. A portal establishes feedback loops that enable continuous flow of auric communication.

Eyes, nose, ears, mouth, skin, genitals—all designed to open and close, give and receive, absorb and generate. How effective are your channels of communication?

Communication that may feel like disappointment could be redirection. Not every shift is wrong. Not every setback is time wasted. Perspectives shift when hearts remain open.

But in the end? There are no secrets to living a good life because there’s nothing new under the sun. It’s been here before. Have you?

Your body can do it. It’s your mind you have to convince.

I remember the first time I did a yoga arm balancing pose in the middle of the room. No props. No teacher support. Just my breath, unfamiliar sensations running wild in my body, and trust that I can do it.

Before I could talk myself out of the unthinkable, I turned the “I can do it—I can do it” into a song, counted to three, and voilá I was doing it….balancing on my hands.

I was fascinated by the conversation that occurred in my mind and also intrigued by the way my body felt when I focused on how it felt.

The moment I shifted awareness away from my mind and into my body, all sorts of messages came online.
