New Year Resolutions – Yey or @£$^%&^%£

I remember the days when new years resolutions were all the hype; I set one, two or ten every single year, and from what I can recall, they never lasted, not intentionally, but somehow they faded away and disappeared, like an ice cube in a glass of warm water.

So I’m going to get a little deep here and try to fathom out why this was the case.

I also read a statistic the other day that said 95% of people who set goals (aka New years resolutions) never actually achieve them.

So how can you be part of the 5% who D.O.?

(I don’t believe everything I read btw,) but it sure did spark some curiosity, and I love looking deeper into things. That’s just how I roll.

Ok, here goes; first off, the word YEAR can be pretty darn daunting, 365 days, 8760 hours, 525,948 minutes, and 31,556,926.08 seconds of change that we can never predict…

Another saying that springs to mind is “Expectation always leads to failure”, so setting yourself up for expectation that XYZ (said New Year’s Resolution) is going to happen this year can do precisely the opposite and pull you back from your goal rather than propel your forwards.

So with this new revelation, from this point forth, I am going to change the word from NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS to NEW MOMENT RESOLUTIONS. As it’s only when we indeed show up in our truth in the present moment, then we become the water (not the ice cube) we find our flow.

With flow comes ease, so what I am trying to say through this piece of writing is this…

How you choose to live your MOMENTS are what matter.

Forget the years and do NOWS!!!

How do you feel about making Resolutions?

Love
