Is there Life after Death?

The Enlightened One says that the purpose of human life is to finish all the karmas one has bound and attain the ultimate liberation. Until one is unable to complete this purpose, one has to keep taking a rebirth. And until one has to take a rebirth, it cannot be one’s last incarnation.

So if we want to stop the cycle of birth and rebirth, then we have to stop the charging of the new karma and we have to finish all the old karma with equanimity. Then only we can break this cycle of birth and rebirth.

Reincarnation means since you have charged ‘new’ karma in this life, you have to take a rebirth to finish the fruits of those karma through the mind, speech and body, in the next life.

How do we charge new karma?

When the old karma (that was charged in the previous lives) unfolds to give its fruits, we end up charging new karma due to our ignorance. For instance, it is due to the unfolding karma bound in the past life, that today, a thought arises in the mind, or words get uttered from our mouth or some action happens by our body. Yet, we believe that, ‘I am thinking, I am speaking, I am doing.’ It is due to this doership, that new karma gets charged, the effect of which will come in the next life.

When all the karma, which are destined to unfold in this life, unfold and finish, death happens. But since we charged new karma in this life, hence, the next birth will take place to give the effects of these karma we charged. So again in the next life, from birth till death, we have to suffer the effects of the old karma, as and when they discharge.

How do we stop charging new karma?

For that, one must obtain Aatma-Gnan (Self-Realization).

Through Akram Vignan, we are able to attain Self-Realization in just two hours time, for no cost whatsoever. In the Gnan (Self-Realization) Ceremony, with Gnani’s (the Enlightened One) grace, our blunder of mistaking John (please insert your name here) to be the real Self is removed as we get the flawless vision from the Enlightened One.

So after Self-Realization, the blunder is removed. Then, only mistakes remain. Staying in the company of Gnani, and following his words (Gnan-vaani), slowly slowly, these mistakes too get removed, as we begin to see our own faults within and we learn to see the entire world with the flawless vision.

After Self-Realization, as each karma unfolds and gives its fruits, in the awareness of the Soul, we discriminate between the ‘Sufferer’ (the worldly self) and the ‘Knower’ (the real Self), and see the faults of anger, pride, deceit, greed, attachment and hatred within, due to which we hurt somebody or we got suffering from other people. This helps us come out of all our faults. When we see the fault in the awareness of the Soul, that fault gets removed, and as faults get removed, we experience more and more liberation within because the old karma has finished with equanimity and no new karma is charged.

One by one, when all the old karma finishes, we will have completed the purpose of human life. This may happen in one, two or more births after Self-Realization, depending upon our right effort and the stock of old karma that we have piled. And when it happens, we get liberated forever. Then, we don’t have to take any rebirth!

So, let’s go to Gnani, the Enlightened One, and from Him, let’s attain Self-Realization as soon as we can…
