Basu Gautam is a renowned author, educator, speaker, and traveler who has dedicated his professional career to promoting peace and social justice through various creative and innovative methods. He was born and raised in Bhairahawa, Nepal, and has over 20 years of experience working in several roles in Nepal, including as a National Program Coordinator for Demo Finland’s “Youth Project,” a National Consultant for the United Nations Development Program’s “Peace Building and Recovery Unit,” and a National Advisor for SocDem Asia. Gautam is the Founder and President of the Lumbini World Peace Forum, which he established in 2015, to create a peaceful and just world through cross-cultural dialogue, sustainability, and the arts. He is also a professional trainer and speaker on various topics such as innovation and creativity in education, climate change and the green economy, cultural diplomacy, emotional intelligence, and communication skills. In 2019, Gautam led the One Million Trees Plantation Drive Campaign in Nepal, which has been engaging communities in climate change adaptation and environmental awareness. His efforts in promoting peace and sustainability have been recognized and awarded, including the “Youth Inspiration Award 2018” from the Global Youth Parliament, the “Humanitarian Award” from the United Peace Keepers Federal Council in Thailand, and the “Icon Award” from the Global Law Thinkers Society in Bangladesh. Gautam is a graduate of Strayer University in the United States, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. He is also a prolific writer and regularly contributes columns to Nepalese publications and various online blog portals. Throughout his professional journey, Gautam has remained committed to learning and growing, always looking for new opportunities to make a positive impact on the world. He is happily married with a daughter and continues to inspire and empower others to join him in creating a more peaceful and just world.
