The Pros and Cons of Distance Learning
Josh Keidan is an avid lover of writing, education, improvisation, and music. For the last thirty years, he has immersed himself in the fictional worlds that both known and unknown authors create, gaining insight from them and creating intricate theories about how the mind reacts to various educational environments because of it. Josh himself is an author who has tapped into several different genres, focusing primarily on nonfiction essays, creative nonfiction, and poetry. He holds a Ph.D. in Education from the University of Toledo and has served as a writer, editor, accreditation manager, and curriculum designer there. Josh Keidan is still based in Toledo, OH, to this day.
Outside of work, Josh Keidan enjoys researching the intricacies of the world’s social structures. He saw first-hand what happens when people cling too tightly to outdated and harmful worldviews, having been a Peace Corps volunteer in the past, and is well aware of what can happen when things don’t change because harmful views are considered the “standard.” Josh presented at a Peace Studies conference and dove into direct, structural, and cultural violence, examining how figures in popular culture (specifically characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe) combat those forces and uphold the status quo.
