That New Day (a sedoka poem)
I am Canadian and just returned from 22 years in Tanzania. I live on Lake Memphremagog Quebec in a rustic hunting log cabin with my husband . I enjoy writing poetry, swimming and cooking.
Spending time in Zanzibar, I cooked for young volunteers and perfected my Swahili. My life has brought me both joy and anguish and has led me to here and now.
From sailing the Bahamas as a young, bewildered first mate, building my log cabin in the woods of Vermont and plastering old houses, I have had a wonderful life.
Now is the time for me to gather my memories and cherish them once again.
During these troubling days, I am just reflecting on my huckleberry life and keeping safe beneath the North star.
