Yasmene Mumby

Dr. Yasmene Mumby is a Brooklyn-based writer and yoga instructor who started practicing eleven years ago when she was a middle school Social Studies teacher and community organizer in Baltimore.

Yasmene loves creating and producing audiodocumentaries. You can listen to Higher Purpose, about an organization that supports people with legal system records to gain livable wage employment on Baltimore’s NPR station here. Her latest audiodoc, Ahimsa, the audiomemoir on yoga, wellness, and Black Lives in 2020 is out on Apple, Google, and Spotify.
